What We Do

Who We Are

Friends of Symphonia Jubilate (FOSJ) is the fundraising body for Symphonia Jubilate, a public school orchestra organisation run through the Department of Education. Because Symphonia Jubilate is supported by the NSW Department of Education, they are unable to receive donations. FOSJ uses its DGR (Deductible Gift Recipient) status to fundraise and receive grants on behalf of Symphonia Jubilate.

Who We Support

Symphonia Jubilate (SJ) is a public school orchestra organisation run through the Department of Education and based in the Strathfield area. Open to students from years 2 – 12, SJ offers six musical ensembles which rehearse on Saturday afternoons at Homebush West Public School.

The Symphonia Jubilate Outback (SJO) project is a symphony orchestra of strings, wind, brass and percussion in Western NSW. Open to students in local and regional public schools in the Central West, the project aims to engage whole communities through the life-changing effects of music making.

What We Need

In 2023, FOSJ is continuing its fundraising efforts to:

  • Support Symphonia Jubilate by funding the purchasing of resources, concert costs and contributing to staffing costs
  • Offer sponsored SJ places for families experiencing financial hardship
  • Support Symphonia Jubilate Outback financially and physically
